Army’s relief activities continue in flood-affected areas

SIBI: Pakistan Army said that the relief activities continue in the flood-affected areas of Balochistan.
According to district nazim Jhal Magsi, some 100,000 people are stranded in flood in the district and efforts are being made to shift them to safe places.
On the other hand, five persons in Pasni and three persons of the same family in Turbat were killed in the rain-related incidents.

According to the FC sources, relief activities are being carried out in the affected areas but the affected people said that they are facing acute shortage of drinking water and food.

The land communication of Nasirabad in Turbat with Nauroz has been restored but still cut off with some other areas due to which the city has an acute shortage of eatables. Electricity has partially been restored in Turbat after it was suspended for the last eight days.

Relief operation continues also in Gwadar, Pasni, Ormara, Jiwani, Sibi, Khuzdar, Noshki and other areas. A ship of the Pakistan Navy carrying relief goods has reached Gwadar.

The affected people said that relief goods given to them are lower in quantity whereas affected people in some other areas are still waiting for relief aid. Many people in these areas are living under open sky due to non-availability of tents.
