KESC faces shortage of 400megawatt; load shedding continues
|
KARACHI: The power crisis in Karachi aggravated owing to the shortage of 400megawatt. Three to four hours long unannounced power load shedding after every two hours continued on Monday. The citizens are faced up with great hardships.

According to sources, KESC did not pay off the dues of PSO and Sui Southern Gas; resultantly, gas and furnace oil supply to KESC was whittled down.
The power crisis was the most exacerbated on Monday as the unannounced load shedding after every two hours continued the whole day.
KESC Director Operation said that furnace oil problem has been settled. Whereas the negotiations to get the gas supply reinstated are underway. However, KESC still faces the shortage of 200 to 250 megawatts.
