Yesterday’s depression (strong monsoon weather system) over India has moved in a westerly direction and now lies over East-Madhya Pradesh. It is likely to move in a westerly direction and weaken gradually.



Under its influence widespread heavy rains have occurred in Punjab and upper parts of the country during the last 12 hours. Chief amount of rainfall:

Haripur = 87, Faisalabad = 68, Islamabad (Airport = 55, Saidpur = 47, Zero point =31), Palandari = 55, Sahiwal & Daggar = 54 each, Phulra = 51, Kamra = 50, Kotnaina = 45, Murree & Jassar = 43 each, Okara & Attock = 41 each, Oghi =39, Shakargarh = 38, Baba Shah Jalal (Chakwal) = 36, Tarbela =31, Joharabad & D.I.Khan =30 each, Sehrkakota = 26,

Now the monsoon activity is likely to be shifted to southern part of the country gradually, during the next 24-36 hours.

Punjab, Islamabad & Kashmir Catchment Areas including Earthquake Affected Areas:
Scattered rains/thunderstorm at few places during next 12-24 hours

Sindh:
Scattered rains/thunderstorm after 24-36 hours especially in southern & southeastern Sindh with chances of isolated heavy fall with gusty winds

Balochistan
No significance weather, except possibly of isolated rain in eastern Balochistan.

NWFP:
Possibility of any significance rain in NWFP and Northern area in next 2-3 days is very low.
